Be Gracious -- Whether You Win or Lose
Being gracious in victory and defeat is a key to building strong relationships. Strong relationships with the important people in your life are a key to interpersonal competence. Tuesday evening, we all go to see an example of a highly interpersonally competent person in action.
On Tuesday June 3, Senator Barack Obama garnered enough delegates to secure the Democratic Party nomination for President of the US. He was incredibly gracious in his speech in Saint Paul, MN. He went out of his way to compliment Senator Hillary Clinton, his strongest opponent in the primary elections.
Here is what he had to say…
Agile Web Development with Rails, 3rd Edition
source: weblog.rubyonrails.com
You asked for, heck, you demanded it, and now it’s becoming a reality. The original Rails book, Agile Web Development with Rails, is getting a facelift and the 3rd edition is now available as a beta book.
The book will be targeting Rails 2 and thus cover the many improvements in features and idioms that Rails have seen since the last edition of the book.
We also have a new author on board with the project: Sam Ruby. Sam co-authored the wonderful RESTful Web Services and have been involved with the Ruby and Rails communities for quite some time now. It’s fantastic to have him involved with the book.
www.rubyonrails.org was Hijacked /Hacked ???
Hi
I would like to bring this information to Rails community
2-3 days back few people started posting on their blogs claiming
that www.rubyonrails.org has been hijacked Or Hacked!!
Although there was some problem with DNS Server/Hosting company of WWW.rubyonrails.org

they were redirected to some advertisement website.,
That was the temporary issue and has been resolved compleatly….
there is no problem with the site or application that runs it!!
www.rubyonrails.org was neither Hijacked nor Hacked!!.
for more details you can read the Web log of www.rubyonrails.org

AMD's "Griffin" processors revealed”
AMD's as of yet unreleased Puma platform has shown promise on paper, and recent rumors make it more so with details of four new processors that will be made for the platform.
Dollar Plummets Against Yen
TOKYO -- The rapidly falling dollar marked a milestone in Japan as it fell below ¥100 for the first time in 12 years, threatening Japan's exporters and increasing the likelihood that the world's No. 2 economy would slow down significantly. The dollar dropped to as low as ¥99.80 during Asian trading Thursday. It crossed the psychologically important threshold of ¥100 for the first time since November 1995, when it also reached ¥99.80.
Discussion about “Surprise! AOL Buys Bebo for $850 million”
AOL buying Bebo for $850 million was a pleasant surprise to wake up to this morning. Wow! I think this is a smart move for AOL as Bebo is currently the third largest social network on the Web behind Facebook and MySpace. With AIM offering one of the larger social graphs on the Web but a turnstile of online social networking profile site attempts in the last two years it looks like AOL has finally decided to invest externally in a solution with a lot users and page views.
Britain makes camera that 'sees' under clothes | CNET News.com
LONDON--A British company has developed a camera that can detect weapons, drugs or explosives hidden under people's clothes from up to 25 meters away in what could be a breakthrough for the security industry. The T5000 camera, created by a company called ThruVision, uses what it calls "passive imaging technology" to identify objects by the natural electromagnetic rays--known as Terahertz or T-rays--that they emit. The high-powered camera can detect hidden objects from up to 80

Microsoft and Yahoo are holding informal merger discussions, marking a shift from the "radio silence" that previously existed between the two companies, according to a source familiar with the talks.A lot has changed over the past two weeks, compared with February 1 when Microsoft issued its unsolicited buyout bid for Yahoo, which initially valued the company at $31 a share."Yahoo has shown some willingness to have a conversation and talk," said the source, who noted the Redmond gian
